Developed by Dr. Erik Simmons, a PhD in Performance Psychology and Behavioral Science, and refined alongside elite fighters competing at the highest levels of MMA and grappling.
Fighter Focus is the gold standard of performance phycology, designed exclusively for combat athletes.
No recycled fluff or vague “mindset coaching.”
The Fighter Focus program is not built for amateur athletes or hobbyists. It is designed for professional athletes who are already highly skilled in their respective domains.
Fighter Focus provides these athletes with a battle-tested, specific framework to maximally express their skill set when it matters most.
Shut down self-doubt and hesitation.
Recover from setbacks.
Control intrusive thoughts on fight day.
Stay locked in when the stakes are high and results matter. Compete with clarity and confidence.
We also work with grapplers looking to compete in worlds, ADCC or ADCC Trials.
Amateur MMA fighters will be considered on a case by base basis but often do not have enough of a foundational skill set to get value out of the Fighter Focus program.
Youth atheletes who are seriously considering a careear as professional atheltes but are still developing can greatly benefit from the Fighter Focus Program
MOST ATHLETES
Scroll motivational quotes instead of having real tools to handle burnout
Let one bad performance or session spiral into months of self-doubt and overthinking
Take advice from people who’ve never actually competed in combat sports, who use tennis and golf analogies
Waste years trying to “tough it out” instead of developing actual mental skills
Let nerves or fear steal everything you’ve trained for
Feel motivated in training but freeze up when it actually matters

We understand that being a parent can feel like herding cats in a thunderstorm; life is busy!
We take great pride in setting a high standard for the service we provide to you and your child. Unfortunately, with a training volume of only one class a week, we can’t reliably deliver the amazing outcomes we are known for.
The last thing we want is for our parents to feel like they didn’t get exceptional value from our program! As such, we strongly recommend that kids aim to train at least twice a week on average. This ensures they progress steadily, build real confidence, strong self-defense skills, and keep up with their peers in belt promotions.
We know we’re asking a lot, but if you can carve out the time to bring your child to training twice a week, we promise to deliver amazing outcomes. Don’t just take our word for it; try a class, on us.
That said, we understand that two classes per week may simply not be possible at times. We do have a one-class-per-week option available on request, best suited for those just getting started or temporarily navigating a hectic schedule.
Our uniform is entirely No-Gi, meaning no uniform is required—kids can train in regular clothes. Gi training doesn’t align with our values at Team Compton Kids for a few reasons.
We aim to keep our program simple, with transparent pricing for parents and highly effective training for students. Gi’s can make training hot and restrictive, and they also encourage an over-reliance on grips that don’t translate well to self-defense, as regular clothing isn’t as sturdy. Gi’s also add extra costs for parents, which we prefer to avoid.
Stripes, belts, and rank certificates are still awarded to recognize and encourage each child’s progress.
We’re here to support every child’s journey as best as we can! If your child has been diagnosed with or is suspected to have a neurodevelopmental condition, please let us know. Our instructors have plenty of experience working with neurodiverse kids, and we welcome all children to try our group classes.
If we find that your child isn’t quite ready for a group setting yet, no worries; we’re happy to offer private training at a reduced rate. This gives them the time and support they need to build confidence and develop the skills to thrive in the group training environment.
Our minimum starting age is 5 years old.
Of course! Feel free to email us at admin@teamcomptonkids.com or call/text 0438 843 480. However, for all new inquiries, please book a call with our coach using the form above so we can get you started as soon as possible.
You’re always welcome to drop by and watch a class anytime! If your child wants to join in, we just ask that you book a quick call with one of our coaches first using the form above. This helps us make sure our program is the right fit for your goals and expectations and that we have enough instructors to support new students. Because of this, we usually can’t accommodate trial students without prior notice.
Nope! We only require bookings for new students participating in a free trial class.
Once enroled, you’re welcome to come in on whatever day works best for your schedule. There’s no need to book in advance or stick to specific days, just show up when it’s convenient for you!
